Bug Description
Binary package hint: vlc
In Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 6, the pause function doesn't work in VLC 0.8.6d when playing a video with external subtitles. However, it actually pauses when I play a DVD with subtitles, though.
No error messages ever appear in the console.

I can confirm this. I'm using VLC 0.8.6e and Hardy Beta.
When paused, the video continues but the subtitles shown don't disappear. New subtitles are shown above older ones.
