Pushing a file to change these settings with usb-modeswitch is not the right way to fix this. Instead, it's something that should be looked at directly by the kernel developers and change the timeout if it needs changing.
Bug 992639 is basically the exact same thing though, so I'll just mark this one as a duplicate of it, and bring it to kernel devs' attention.
