I upgraded from Kubuntu 14.04 to 14.10 and I am, too, affected by this. I do "wear" the nvidia drivers, but I can't seem to correlate this issue with the drivers. Although, this message appears on my start up screen, I can actually log in and work like I usually do without any glitches. :/
