Such fade-out masks at the top/bottom are currently not possible/implemented in Nux. I have suggested such a feature in the past and also wondered why it's not part of the design-mockups. This is a O+1 feature, which should be added to the Nux 2.0 planning currently underway. I'm just doing that right now.
