Bug Description

I find tooltips are still visible behind quicklists when they open. This bug is very easy to reproduce with the new GLES code (compiz r3320 or later), but sometimes visible even without that.

Also observed in precise: Unity 5.14.

I think this could be the same root cause as bug 1036572.

Seems kind of like the background is being retrieved from the wrong framebuffer, a frame or two old.

This is reproducible with Unity 6.2 also in the archive, so it doesn't have anything to do with compiz gl, or trunk code.

I definitively can't confirm with 6.2 on quantal, the tooltip is dismissed on right click here

As per the title, it happens with compiz revision 3320 or later (including 0.9.8.0).

This bug has something to do with the new framebuffer logic that the gles2 branch introduced.

I don't think this is gles related.

The tool tip actually still looks there. And mine still have some transparency / blur, just not active.

if I mouse over a launcher icon to bring up the tool tip, then right click for the quicklist, you can see the tooltip underneath, but if i right click on the icon above, unity will close the open quicklist and open the new one, and for a brief moment, you can see the old tooltip still there.

Confirmed Bilal's observation. This happened to me once on quantal with compiz r3319, and only once. However when you move to the GLES code (r3320 and later), this bug happens all the time.
