Comment 149 for bug 842566

I was having the same problems (particularly the inability to switch using Alt+Tab, and blank logos appearing in the launcher), but installing lo-menubar and re-installing bamf (sudo apt-get --reinstall install bamfdaemon) seems to have done the trick for me.
