Nope, it definitely doesn't duplicate here with gedit or Nautilus running in a bottom workspace and then switched to from a upper workspace. I suggest you also try unity --reset to reset your Compiz settings back to the defaults and try again.
However, apps dragged past the edge of the screen do wrap around to the other edge but I don't consider that a bug. You can always do Alt+click-drag to move windows if for whatever reason they aren't where you want them.
