Matt, throwing the mouse at the left edge, even with any necessary-but-short delay is still less time/work for the user than the currently inefficient method.
Also, having to resort to the keyboard to overcome this issue is not a valid workaround, imo. A user should not have to resort to bandaids in their workflow.
