You can do that -- press Alt+<menu shortcut letter> (the underlined
letter in the menu that appears), then the menu opens and stays.
That's what I'm using to deal with this problem (I can't live without
FFM either)

That's what I'm using to deal with this problem (I can't live without
FFM either)
