Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

If you plugs second monitore to the box with unity, and opens gnome-display-properties it will initiate some flickering loop with restarts (hard to describe just try it :D ), all apps and app-dock will disappear.

I guess unity was not designed for dual screen. I think it should have highest priority before it goes to 11.04, even it is wish.

Thanks for your bug report and help to make ubuntu better.

I can't reproduce it here. Do you also experience that in the GNOME session? (try launching mutter --replace first in the GNOME session).
Can you also post the result of lspci in the command line here?

I installed xorg edgers after this report, so it looks i bit different
now. No flickering any more, it just useless. I mean i see sort of unity
dock on seocond screen no buttons working. And system-meny-bar is not
there.

The gnome(+compize) working just fine with two screens, mutter get
segfault if try to raplace compiz.

ok, then hopefully the compiz rewrite that will land in natty will fix your issue. Do not hesitate to change the bug status report if you test alpha1 for instance and see that it's fixed. Thanks!
