Top bar incorrect size after update

After the updates this morning, the top bar will at times resize itself random lengths. I have to log out and back in for things to be back to normal. Every time that I notice it happens, is when I connect to a different wifi network or plug in/out my network cable. Perhaps the network animation screwing with it?
dpkg -s unity-2d shows I have version "3.8.16-0ubuntu1~bzr673" installed.

I have attached an image of the topbar extented out of the right side view of my screen.
