Bug Description

If I have a background slideshow, which the capability to have has been in GNOME for a while now, then when I click on Applications, Places, ubuntu icon, program icon to show multiple windows, or anything else that's supposed to darken background, then I get a white background (making text unreadable), and if I look in Terminal output, I see an error about unsupported filetype or something of that nature.

By the way, I'm using the latest unity-2d from the ~unity-2d-team PPA.
