To those that are ready to jump off U1 ... Totally agree, if you need your contacts syncing right now, go with another service. I wouldn't normally say this, but with no status updates and no fix visible on the horizon, what choice do you have. I've been thinking of moving to DropBox myself ... Maybe when U1 gets fixed we'll all come back.

that being said ... as far as this issue being an "Ubuntu deal killer" - I totally disagree. Ubuntu has about as much to do with U1 as MAC OS X has to do with Mobil Me. The online service is not the OS. Don't let issues with contacts syncing in U1 take you away from one of the best Linux distributions available ...

I'll also join the group in requesting an actual status update ... and, if you can swing it, an expected fix date ???
