I was affected by the same IPCError. It started to work after applying these easy steps:
1) Uninstall Ubuntu One (Ubuntu Software Centre or Synaptic) 2) Install Ubuntu Tweak:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
3) Use Janitor to clean old kernel, caches redundant files... 4) Install Ubuntu One again (Ubuntu Software Centre or Synaptic)
Regards, Petr
