Bug Description

I'm having some synchronisation problems with the files put in my Ubuntu One folder.

Due to a limitation in Ubuntu one (see bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+bug/829034), I'm using Rsync to put all the sidecar XMP files of my photo gallery into my Ubuntu one folder.

So on one side, I have my Raw photos + the XMP files
Then in the Ubuntu One side, I just have the XMP files

From time to time, some XMP files are just disappearing. I can run my rsync script again, and again, it's transfering the files, then they immediately disappear. If I manually copy the files, they will be uploaded without problem.

What is very strange is that it's happening for some files, and not others. If I have 50 files to sync, 48 will be updated fine, then 2 will suddenly disappear. I can then run the rsync script again and again, they will be copied & deleted immediately. The Ubuntu One client is saying "XXX and 5 other files will be uploaded to ..." (although just 2 files are missing), but nothing happens.

Could it be because Rsync is create a temp file, then quickly renaming it/moving it ? Maybe the Ubuntu One client is confused and thinks the file has been created then deleled, so nothing is done? And why on some files and not on others ?

All I know is that I need to manually fix those problems from time to time, so I think it's worth reporting this problem.
