In an attempt to solve sync difficulties between my home and work karmic machines, I have upgraded both to the latest karmic beta via the ppa.

I had some difficulty getting the synchronising of the ~/Ubuntu one directory going on one machine, which I managed to fix using the u1sync tool (documented in bug report # )

Despite this, the folder refused to synchronise. Further investigation reveals that the client does not automatically start up on login (as it used to). I suspect this has something to do with the deprecation of the client applet.

Once the client is started manually (by going to system - preferences - ubuntuone and hitting the connect button, the sync will occur).

Is this a failure of the deb packaging - post install script?
