Add the "X" button on the far right inside the search field. Clicking this button clears the search field. See variation 12.a step .1 (12.a.1) in spec - http://use-case-mapper.canonical.com/specifications/0AU5sFuLRpCpBZGZra2pqY2pfMjYwZnhwMmptZjY/use_cases/2_1
