I experiences something similar,
I resolved this by making sure I had the latest packages:

ubuntuone-client Installed: 0.95.1+r222-0ubuntu1~ppa1~karmic
ubuntuone-client-gnome Installed: 0.95.1+r222-0ubuntu1~ppa1~karmic

I verify the version and now i get the latest
ubuntuone-client Installed: 0.95.1+r222-0ubuntu1~ppa1~jaunty but it does not work

Hi Simon,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is still not working properly for you. In order to help us troubleshoot this issue, can you run the following command in a terminal session:

apport-collect -p ubuntuone-client 436964

This will provide us with some more info and log files to see what is going on.

Thank you,

Joshua

Changed in ubuntuone-client:
status: New → Incomplete

I run the apport-collect in a terminal and i get an error... unauthorized access

How change the autorization level... in Launchpad

Joshua Hoover (joshuahoover) wrote :

Hi Simon,

Try this to change the authorization level for apport to send debug info on your behalf:

1) rm ~/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials
2) apport-collect -p ubuntuone-client 436964
3) When prompted in your web browser, click the "Change Anything" button (the last one in the list)
4) Go back to your terminal session and press "Enter"

Thank you,

Joshua

was working. ubuntu daily update and bam. stoped working. for some time it showed me a message "capability mismatch, wait while we update our servers" or something on that line. then it simply didn't work with no message.

after sending those logs, i removed all the .config and .cache files, and clicked connect, and voila, it worked.

i'm connecting almost daily from 3 different computers...

@Christoph: try exiting Ubuntu One, deleting your .config/ubuntuone/ubuntuone-client.conf file and restarting Ubuntu One.

@Simon, are you still experiencing problems connecting?

I have new problems now... even right after deleting .config/ubuntuone/ubuntuone-client.conf, it tries to connect and after a second it says "disconnected". If I do right click then "connect" and leave the mouse to see the tooltip it quickly changes from "connecting" to "Ubuntu One" to "uploading flies" (sometimes) to disconnected.

@Tim Cole: I was having this problem, deleting .config/ubuntuone/ubuntuone-client.conf did NOT work (tried several times). However, after deleting both .config/ubuntuone/ubuntuone-client.conf AND .config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf, it has connected and it's updating the files right now. Hope this helps others...
