By 'does not run', do you mean you click on the UbuntuOne menu item and nothing shows up? If so, please run:

$ ps aux | grep ubuntuone

if there is a process called ubuntuone-client-applet, the applet is running, but you probably don't have a system tray in your KDE panel/dock. The ubuntuone-client-applet is indeed a system tray icon, a "protocol" that is supported by both KDE and GNOME, so if you have a system tray, it should show up there when you run it.

If this is not the case, please open a terminal and run:

$ updateone-client-applet

and paste to this bug all the output you see

NOTE: The command to run in the terminal is:

$ ubuntuone-client-applet

This is a dupe of 385313. There is an issue with the karmic version of the python-configglue package on the PPA. I've got a fix for this, but the PPA isn't being very cooperative regarding posting the new package.

Should be resolved in the next few hours.

This still isn't really fixed. At least for me the client for Kubuntu Karmic is not working. It runs as a process, but I get no window or anything.

And I get no output from updateone-client-applet
