In my servers fimrware is uploaded to CPUs early in the boot:

[ 0.000000] microcode: microcode updated early to revision 0x22, date = 2017-01-27

This is the very first line in the kernel log I can read.
I cannot see any possibility that "any non-Ubuntu container" (actually anything else) is started earlier than this. Isn't it?
