I built a Xenial test kernel with the following two commits reverted:

c630ec12d831 mm, oom: rework oom detection
57e9ef475661 mm: throttle on IO only when there are too many dirty and writeback pages

This test kernel can be downloaded from:

Can you test this kernel and see if it resolves this bug?
