 Thanks for the analysis and working upstream. Post here when it lands and I can see about getting it back to 15.04/15.10.

Just for clarify workaround of anyone reading:
megaraid_sas.max_sectors=512 (for released 256k compatible firmware)
megaraid_sas.max_sectors=2048 (for unreleased 1024k compatible firmware)
