@azzar1: I faced today again this issue, after install the modified Unity from the PPA. I resumed after suspend. Yesterday all the family logged in.

Unfortunately, the content of ~/.cache/upstart/unity7.log is a single line:

ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment.
