Guys I do not understand why I do not have the problem anymore on my ubuntu 14.04. The file icon behaves how it should be (opening all minimized windows and middle click to open a new window). I would like to understand what I have changed (maybe in compiz) that makes everything fine.

I'm planning to update my distro soon but before doing it I would like to investigate what is different from you.

I believe in the dash I'm using nautilus-folder-handler.desktop
