If that will help you, you can use KDE or gnome 2D, instead of Gnome, then you will not see random logoffs. After 3 days of using Ubuntu with Unity, Shell, i Removed it and installed Kubuntu, now everythng works flawlesly. Same problem occurs on new Mint distribution (cinnamon or mate). My PC is athlon II x3, GF 9800GT, and I`m using 64-bit systems.
