To determine if the problem is caused by usb_modeswitch, please enable logging in
/etc/usb_modeswitch.conf.

Post the largest file (name starting with "usb_modeswitch") that is created in /var/log after you plugged the device.

DON'T comment out any entry in the "rules"file !!
