I did a bit more factor elimination. The fsc option isn't needed to reproduce this. I also tried to reproduce this by several different command-line operations and it didn't occur.

I should note that when I'm saving the file here, I'm not navigating to the destination via point and click. I'm just prepending the filename with the path in the save box and that allows claws to trigger the mount. Perhaps that also keeps claws from pinning the directory so that it can expire?

I'm at a loss as to what claws is doing though that allows it to reliably trigger this...
