I haven't tested much, but this corruption was obvious very quickly. I just copied a few megabytes of files and got several corruptions. Most files were compressed, and the easiest file to look at was a text file, and the binary zeros were quickly visible in the text editor. I think you will not have any trouble reproducing this issue.
I didn't need to do checksums, just copy with "cp" and immediately compare with "cmp" or "meld". There was no need to reconnect, purge any caches or anything fancy.
