As a temporary measure I have uploaded a fixed version of xserver-xorg-video-intel to this PPA, would anyone on this bug or one of its duplicates please confirm that it fixes their issue?

I didn't post a bug, but I was getting grey, flashing bars whenever I would close the lid of my laptop. However after downloading those, installing and then rebooting - it seems to have fixed the issue.

I tested xserver-xorg-video-intel versions 2:2.12.0-ubuntu5.1 and ubuntu5.2~lp from Robert Hooker for about three days under the following conditions / environments:
- Acer 3820T with Core i3-350m and integrated graphics only
- Completely updated Ubuntu Maverick
- Kernels 2.6.35, 2.6.36-2 and 2.6.37-8
- Multiple shutdowns, suspend/resume, and hibernate/resume cycles in each
- Xfce and Enlightenment 17 DEs
- Multi-display setup on laptop LVDS with or without HDMI out

I saw zero apport crashes, no compositor issues, no MI_WAIT_FOR_EVENT errors logged, and similar power usage/wakeups/interrupt counts.

I've tested this fix on my Dell latitude E6410.

The freezes after a sleep definitely got better, but still seeing some random freezes after my pc wakes up.

Before this patch, the freezes were constant but not anymore.

Also the error in dmesg i915_hangcheck_elapsed disappeared.

I've included my recent dmesg from last gpu hang.
