This is a bit more information based on another user's struggles getting fuse back. The system is F11 x86_64, 2.6.30.9-96.fc11.x86_64.

Punch line: service stop auditd;fuseiso <.iso> <dir>; service start auditd
... and I can accomplish what is needed to use fuse modules.

The server had been running since ... F9(?) with SELinux disabled. Note that restorecon (as in comment 53) returned immediately while SELinux is disabled. I changed /etc/sysconfig/selinux to SELINUX=permissive, rebooted, and relabeled. Note that disabling auditd did not prevent the hang until after the relabel and SELinux was running in permissive mode.

This is similar to comment 47, except the default auditd rules do show this bug.

Note that this bug occured with any fuse filesystem (including the demo 'hello' one available at the sourceforge site for the project.)
