It is easy, just follow the steps below:
- install sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.32-40_2.6.32-40.87_all.deb sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.32-40-generic_2.6.32-40.87_i386.deb sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.32-40-generic_2.6.32-40.87_i386.deb
- reboot
- select 'linux 2.6.32-40-generic' in grub menu and boot it
- test your usb mass storage performance
