I guess I could have put it all in one attachment. Sorry about that. When I tried to redirect the lsusb and lspci output to a file, I saw some messages that indicated I needed root access so I ran the with both sudo and without. The lsusb and lspci output are named accordingly. I ran dmesg with sudo only although that probably could have been run as a normal user. Also, note that when I boot Oneiric, it's on the USB drive itself so the file transfer trace doesn't include any traffic for mounting the USB drive since it's already mounted. Operationally, when I turn on the computer, it boot's Lucid from an internal SATA hard drive. When I want to test a newer ubuntu release, I turn on the USB drive and reboot using the bios boot order to select the OS on the USB drive rather than Lucid on the interal SATA hard drive. Thus, the usbmon trace doesn't include any traffic prior to the file transfer since the USB drive is already mounted by the time I start the trace.
