I took the liberty to subscribe you since you asked a question. First of all I'm not a developer but rather just an end user ;^/
That said the new behavior should show only the mbr's of all drives (both internal and external), and also the partition that Ubuntu's "/boot" lives in.
You didn't say much about the choices offered, what were they?
