Please keep only one issue per bug. The ctrl repeating is known upstream and fixed in master. This OTOH should be fixed in the latest xserver-xorg-core, please make sure you have 1.4.99.906-1ubuntu3 installed.

And if you still have the original problem even when the keyboard model is evdev, attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log, thanks.
