Thanks for your solution. It works by me too.
To Andreas Petlund: I have had the same network problem with an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard.
Strange is that this problem came forward after upgrade ubuntu 8.10 and I wasn't met it with 8.04.
I submit any aditional info what you need.
