interesting, this might be why I can't, for the life of me, seem to get the network going.
I'm using Asus P5N32- SLI motherboard.

It is strange, because the network problem seems to fail only with recent version of Ubuntu,
I found an old CD and it seems to work ok...

I will update more once I try this out.
