Confirmed here, the value seems to always be '2' for me:

perseus:[...0000:03:00.0/rfkill/rfkill5] cat name
4965AGN
perseus:[...0000:03:00.0/rfkill/rfkill5] cat state
2

So there would appear to be a kernel problem here still.
