I can confirm that the fix is working as on 20210418 iso (as tested on Ubuntu and Xubuntu).

Notes:
1) We still see 'No EFI system partition found..." pop-up which may confuse users.
2) Letting installer create partition on empty disk creates a GPT partition layout with bios_grub, efi and root, or if we choose install alongside option, installer creates an EFI partition.
