UPD:
bios reset (factory defaults) helps. It looks like sound firmware waits for Intel ME that for some reason was off\can't start.

I have the same problem with HP EliteBook 840 G6

fix: "options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=1" works but mic is broken
