Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Hi, just reported a similar bug see:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/172339

I am re-listing it here because it doesn't pertain just to printing:
I also get the following when I click to open a pdf link:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/downloads.xul
Line Number 1, Column 13:ompter.alert(window, title, text);
------------^

I am on kubuntu gutsy x86_64.
I have the firefox web-developer tool bar installed, I am uninstalling it to see if it makes a difference. will post later.

The bug is in the firefox-webdeveloper package. After unistalling firefox-webdeveloper the bug is fixed.

webdeveloper breaks firefox ... this is critical and a blocker for webdeveloper extension.

as commented in bug #172339, webdeveloper is uninstallable in hardy with firefox-3.0. Leaving at 'critical' importance, but un-milestoning for hardy.

I have a problem with printing that seems to be related to this problem but I don't have webdeveloper installed...

It happens when ever I try to print any page in Firefox 3 Beta 5.

Sorry the error is in finnish:

XML-jäsennysvirhe: virhe käsiteltäessä ulkoista olioviittausta
URL: chrome://global/content/printProgress.xul
Rivinumero 6, sarake 67:<!DOCTYPE window SYSTEM "chrome://global/locale/printProgress.dtd">
------------------------------------------------------------------^

My translation:

XML-parsing error: error when handling object
URL: URL: chrome://global/content/printProgress.xul
Linenumber 6, column 67:<!DOCTYPE window SYSTEM "chrome://global/locale/printProgress.dtd">

After this if I try to print something it'll say "Can't print. Printer not working."

If I wait for a while it'll start working again, but I still can't print anything from Firefox. Just happened to notice this today when trying to print some plane tickets on the net.
