Problem still present in Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS with latest updates on 2009-01-13.

I can confirm this is not directly related to recordmydesktop, to the "-channel 2" option shouldn't have any impact. It occurs in other situations such as when running a Java application relying on the AWT.

This is a bug is in the lib.
