Is it safe to just do sudo apt-get --purge remove linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-19-generic linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-19-generic ?
Should I also delete timg-tpi-ppa.list from /etc/apt/sources.list.d to avoid the above items being reinstalled with the update?
I've just tried the above linux-image- 2.6.24- 19-generic solution (see https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux/+ bug/226279/ comments/ 59 and https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux/+ bug/226279/ comments/ 82 ). But as noted by Thomas Pifer (https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux/+ bug/226279/ comments/ 100 ), the modules do not seem to work. Despite my best efforts, after rebooting with the 2.6.24-19 kernel, I had no sound and no wireless (Atheros).
