XDMCP is enabled and GDM works well with XMing (windows based X server). I get a working desktop when I login using Xming from a windows machine.
When I try to connect with UltraVNC or TightVNCViewer from the windows machine, I get only the grey screen with the X cursor.
This is why I think the problem may be on the side of vnc4server and not with GDM (although it is possible that GDM fails for some reason when working with vnc4server).
