as an fyi ...
It has been brought to my attention that this could impact other system (outside vmware context)
so I still suspect a userspace change (possibly mutter) that introduce behaviour change and break the interaction with certain part of the 4.15 kernel.
Do we know if the recent point release has been tested with different kernel series ? 4.15, 4.18, ... or only 4.18 ?
