FWIW, for distributions which haven't published the fix yet (e.g. Slackware AFAICS), RIP_MAX_CACHE can be overwritten by adding this line to cupsd.conf (also editable through CUPS web interface on localhost:631) :

    RIPCache 0

(replace 0 by whatever suits for you).
