Stumbled on this in triage, so this is somehow a drive-by comment. The testing you prepared looks solid to me. What I'm surprised about is the lack of comments / extra bug reports from users affected by this issue, especially given that this bug is 2.5 years old. I expect Win10 guests on Ubuntu hosts to be a pretty common scenario. Are we sure that the initial problem (Win10 guests failing to install some upgrades) is still happening? Could it be that this was fixed or worker around on the Windows side by lowering the requirements?
