I'm pretty sure it's a TB16 dock from looking at the traces. Can you reliably reproduce this? I have some suspicions, but would like to see verbose fwupd output to confirm it if possible.

So try to run this:

# sudo /usr/lib/fwupd/fwupd -v

And share all of the output that is found.
