Bug Description

I get no graphical shutdown in Xubuntu Gutsy, instead I get what looks like a long list of processes that have been made and are being killed. When trying to execute "/sbin/usplash", I get the error:
"usplash: can't get console font: Invalid argument
bogl_init failed: reading screen info: Inappropriate ioctl for device
screen init failed"

It was working fine for me before, in Feisty.
This seems similar to the bug reported here ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/102894 ), only it's in Gutsy.

Hello, thanks for reporting this bug. Are you still having this problem? Is there a period of time where the shutdown process displays text, but then the shutdown process finishes up with the xubuntu splash screen? Please let us know. Thanks!

I'm sorry, I no longer have access to this computer.
If I recall correctly, it would only display the text and then shutdown.
