Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
The vesa driver used for the safe graphics boot from Ubuntu 7.10 does freeze the VIA P4M900 graphics system. The same freeze happens when bulletproof X takes control.
Work around for installation is to use the text based modus with fixed VGA resolution.
With help of dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg the X driver can be set to openchrome, which works.
When trying to configure X with displayconfig-gtk, the graphical system may fail to start and bullet proof X takes over. This freezes the graphics system.
