Hi all,

I'm new to launchpad and have just registered to be able to post this comment.

I've been using XUbuntu for about a year without any problems on a Cadar-Minibox-200 (http://www.cadar.co.uk/boxpcs/minibox200.php) which has:
Graphics: Integrated VIA Unichrome 2D/3D.
My hard disk crashed last week and I had to buy a new one and reinstall everthing (nothing to do with XUbuntu, this is just to put things in context).
So I decided to install the new Hardy Heron LTS which I believed would be better than the previous Feisty Fawn.
Big mistake of mine, Hardy Heron has this bug that you guys are discussing above and I could not manage to configure my monitor to 1024x768.
I'm having exactly the same problem mentioned above (see below) and after spending the last 2 days trying to get around this I give up.
Because, as someone mentioned above, it's not possible to work with hardy heron with low resolution.
I 'm unfortunately about to change my linux distro to something else than Ubuntu unless I can sort this out soon.
So I wonder if anyone knows any work around this problem (Openchrome does not work on this case) and/or have any plan to urgently fix this bug on ubuntu.

Any suggestion is very much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance.
Roney

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
xserver-xorg-video-unichrome: Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 1:1.1.1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
